Old linen towel with monogram
This old linen napkin / tea towel is a beautifully preserved piece that used to be a common part of French and Central European households. It is made of strong, high-quality linen, with the typical red woven stripes and a hand-embroidered monogram (probably "PG" or "CG") that gives it a personal and authentic character. It is the monograms that make these pieces unique - they once belonged to a particular family, were carefully maintained and passed down.
The condition is very nice, with a natural patina consistent with age and use. The fabric is still firm, without major damage.
How would we use it? For example, as a stylish kitchen towel in a rustic or country kitchen, as a napkin for pastries, bread or cakes. It could certainly look great arranged on a table or simply folded in an open shelf as a beautiful decorative detail.
