Le Veratelier

... was born out of love.

Out of love for France, for morning markets, for the stories hidden in objects, and out of love for the homes in which we grew up.

We both grew up in an environment where old things had their place. Our mothers shared the same passion and taste, our homes were always full of beautiful things, and it was there that we first experienced the powerful atmosphere that objects with history can have. And it was precisely this passion that we eventually developed.

When life brought us together and then to France, it opened the door to a world we had only dreamed of for a long time. Morning markets, barns full of treasures, hidden shops where objects await their second life. We discovered that we not only have the opportunity to discover these things, but also to share them – and so the idea was born to bring a piece of France home, to the Czech Republic.

Whenever I shared my catches on social media, friends and complete strangers would message me to bring something back. And we suddenly saw that the desire to discover French pieces wasn't just ours.

Le Veratelier was therefore created as a bridge, as an opportunity to experience the atmosphere of French markets even for those who can't make it there. And at the same time as a space where every piece has its own story and is waiting for someone whose life it will fit perfectly into.

Today, we offer not only an e-shop with carefully selected vintage and antique pieces, but also personal shopping - if you have a dream piece, send it to us and we will try to find it in France.

In 2026, we would like to open our brick-and-mortar store in Valtice, in the romantic spaces of the La Veneria chateau. It is a place that is closer to us than can be easily described. The house where Karel grew up and which was once reawakened by the care of Karel's parents. We believe that this will be a beautiful way to continue their legacy and connect what they loved with what we create today.

Our treasures will be displayed in the Knights' Hall, just steps above our Grand Veneur establishment, where many of you already know us. It is a space where stories have met long before us — and where ours will now continue.
